Wrestlers show strong improvement

By HMS Website Student Reporter Jacob Ewers

The wrestling season ended and the survivors of the 8th grade season have competed in their last tournament before going on to the high school to compete as Bruins. These wrestlers of 2010 have all worked and played hard together in a physically demanding sport and will most likely play again next year and be even better than they were this season.

Below are some questions for Jeff Lindstrom the head coach

Question: How has the team improved over the 2010 season?

Mr. Lindstrom: We are a much more aggressive team; we scored more points this season.

Who do you believe has shown the most improvement?

Mr. Lindstrom: All seventh graders showed improvement but overall Gabrienne Post Peyralans who won two of her last matches has shown the most improvement.

What is your view on wrestling?

Mr. Lindstrom: It the oldest and greatest sport. It makes every other sport better.

How would you like to see the wrestlers of 2010 continue in their wrestling careers?

Mr. Lindstrom: I'd love them to go up to the high school and continue to play sports; I just want them to play no matter the sport.

Did anyone ever actually walk on their hands across the mat and get that prize?

Mr. Lindstrom: Josh Lewis came close; the prize was milkshakes.

What are some of the things that you believe was fun about this season?

Mr. Lindstrom: We had great comebacks. We were way behind and most came back and got a pin. We hope to see these same wrestlers play next year and hope they had a fun season.
